特拉法加廣場是通往倫敦各大景點的必經之處。陽剛氣息凝重的廣場，無不是穿著軍裝的戰爭與政治英雄。西北角的第四基座卻奇異地因為雕像尚未完成而空缺著，也因此意外地成為藝術家們的展演空間，以十八個月為期，定期更換。今年放上的便是這尊騎著木馬的男童雕像。看似天真的孩童與木馬，卻尖銳地諷刺了整個廣場上的軍事氛圍。倫敦難得的好天氣裡，銅像閃閃發光。
Statues and monuments in Trafalgar Square
are mostly commemorating war hero or successful politician. The fourth plinth was
erected for an unfinished statue. However, the statue has never been
accomplished since 1814, this plinth then became a space for artistic display. A
golden bronze sculpture of a boy on a rocking horse is the sculpture of 2012. The
appearance of the child and rocking horse criticized the military atmosphere of
the square.
